n800 with os2008

I have successfully installed the OS2008 (cnet install guide) software and I am finding the changes very nice. l can’t wait for the official release to come out. Here is a quick likes and dislikes list:

• SPEED! I didn’t think I would notice an extra 80mhz but it totally makes a difference in loading menus to apps-the entire system just seems more respondent. • Look and feel- there are some nice new ui tweaks that make the prettiness factor increase, not to mention bigger menus that don’t require the stylist
• facebook, i never tried it before-but now it’s a link on the main web menu and it works great. standard popups appear and scrabulous even works

Dislikes

• Apps aren’t out yet, so no mplayer and skype with video has been delayed…:(
• youtube…still has jitter in the stream for me, watched movies before and after the upgrade, def better, but still annoying
• maps – huge map packs 1gb+ for the US, dling tonigh, will report tomorrow – maps won’t be available till December : /
